VIETNAMESE HIP HOP DANCING

A Film about Benny Ngo

Benny Ngo began dancing initially as a way to express his identity and communicate. His family fled from the South of Vietnam when he was ten years old and he had no way to speak English or interact. He started B-boying in 2001, and then taught and performed in the Hybrid Formz (HFZ) crew formed in 2003. He now teaches other young kids from the region how to use dance to express themselves and “reduce frictions in their lives.” In 2013, Benny found the HFZ Academy through which he mentors and empowers individuals to dance and to build a vibrant community and is completing his Masters of Teaching at University of Western Sydney.
